Christmas Carols

Thanks to everyone who joined us and The Tintwistle Brass Band for Christmas Carol singing around the village on Wednesday 14 December 2022.
It was a chilly night but we met at 7pm at the Community Centre and belted out our first carol to help warm everyone up. Then we headed off to Moss Lane and the rest of our route round the village, including a welcome indoor stop at the Harewood Arms. They seemed to enjoy our festive tunes and some brave customers even joined in!
The scouts were collecting food donations for the Trussell Trust Foodbank and cash donations for Fareshare, an organisation that collects and distributes food to vulnerable people, and they did a great job, enthusiastically knocking on doors and encouraging generous donations of food and £190 cash.
Mulled wine and mince pies (and not just any mince pies…homemade and delicious mince pies, courtesy of Anne Grue) were served on our return to the Community Centre at 8.30pm.
