The annual duck race and BBQ will now be on Wednesday 24 June (instead of 10 June)

Due to a rather dismal weather forecast for the two weeks (10 & 17 June) we decided to postpone the annual Duck Race and BBQ to Wednesday 24 June 2026.

The water levels could become very high and it wouldn’t be safe for our ‘pirates’ to be in the river rescuing ducks. Also, it’s not much fun eating soggy burgers!

Please mention it to your friends and neighbours, who may not have seen this update. Thank you.

See you on the 24th. 🙂🦆🍔

Race starts at Warhurst Fold Bridge at 6pm and finishes at Weir Cottage, Hodge Lane (No parking available). Join us at the finish for the prize giving and BBQ…we accept cash and cards for burgers and sausages (with veggie options).

Ducks are £1 each. If we’re able to pop along to another village event (eg one of the cricket club’s matches or events) we’ll add details here.

Friday 1 May at Broadbottom Cricket Club, during the Junior training session.

Wed 3 June at our AGM, Broadbottom Community Centre.

Fri 19 June at Broadbottom Cricket Club, look out for Michelle McCabe

If you need to buy yours and can’t attend any of the above events, please pay by bank transfer and then email us at hello@broadbottomvillage.co.uk or message Jo on 07947 696812 and she’ll reserve your duck tickets for you.

Payments can be made to: (please note our new bank details)

A special thank you to Ryder & Dutton for sponsoring our BBQ again this year.
